What makes CareTutor a Skills for Care ‘Centre of Excellence’?

As we begin the new year, we have some fantastic news! CareTutor has had its Skills for Care ‘Centre of Excellence’ Endorsement renewed nationwide for two more years (till December 2025)!

This top-level endorsement recognises the quality of our eLearning platform, our video-based courses and how CareTutor have adapted to meet the needs of the ever-changing care sector. This is a rating that is only given to the top 10% of Skills for Care Endorsed Providers!

This marks the fifth year in a row CareTutor has been awarded the ‘Centre of Excellence’ endorsement. To earn this, each year, we go through a rigorous quality assurance process and must demonstrate that our training, and the delivery of that training is of the highest quality.

See our profile on Skills for Care’s website here.

The Centre of Excellence status means that we have ‘been able to consistently demonstrate an exemplary commitment to meeting the needs of learners in the adult social care sector.’

Below are a few examples of the features we demonstrated to Skills for Care to receive this prestigious endorsement again.

Engagement

CareTutor is the only provider that specialises in interactive video-based eLearning courses, professionally filmed in real care settings. We took COVID as an opportunity to diversify our courses, creating video-animation training that uses scenarios and new interactivities to engage our learners.

Our client management involves regular 3, 6, and 12-month reviews via phone calls or emails, alongside a dedicated customer service team, online chat desk, and built-in feedback forms to assess learner satisfaction.

Responding to client feedback, in 2023 we adapted new policies, including offering unlimited staff turnover and a 25% staff turnover bonus to meet the ever-increasing turnover faced in the care sector.

We respond swiftly to client demands, prioritising client-requested courses with expert consultant collaboration.

In 2023 we also extended our marketing efforts with a new user-friendly website and increased social media presence, ensuring all care providers know the latest regarding legislation, awareness days and any CareTutor news.

Quality Assurance

Through the dedication and diligence of our learning development team, our courses are rated the highest standard in the sector.

Every one of our courses have been reviewed and made alongside subject-matter consultants who use their extensive experience to ensure courses follow the correct guidance and give relevant insights into what a care worker may face on-site.

(Take a look at the profile of one of our expert consultants who has 30 years’ experience in the care sector, Jacqui Arnold, here)

We also follow a peer review process for all our courses, with organisations such as the Alzheimer’s Society and NICE providing independent reviews.

Working with Learners

Our customer service team maintain daily correspondence via email, online chat and phone calls with social care professionals and learners, addressing their queries promptly.

As there are many differences in providing residential and domiciliary care, CareTutor has tailored training courses for both settings. The courses consider specific challenges and legislation relevant to each setting, utilising video-based training to ensure learners have a realistic understanding of what’s expected of them in the workplace.

Many learners do not have access to a desktop computer, so our training is easily accessible through any device, be it smartphone, tablet or laptop. This flexibility allows our learners to learn the way they want to, be it on the go, at home or in the workplace.

Delivery

In 2023 we also updated our eLearning portal to a brand new, user-friendly style, employing new features such as our user count buttons, to make sure training managers have all the tools they need to administer training effectively.

We offer managers a host of bespoke reporting tools. Our unique colour-coded traffic light training matrix tool notifies them when their learners are due for refresher training, emphasising its importance to make sure care staff stay in line with latest guidance.

CareTutor’s eLearning portal is now more accessible than ever, with learners able to access subtitles, change video speed, enable dyslexic friendly fonts and a use a list of User and Manager help guides.
