Modern slavery is a crime and a serious violation of fundamental human rights. It can take many forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which involve the exploitation of a person for personal or commercial gain.
CareTutor has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings and relationships, and to taking reasonable steps to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place in any part of our own business or, so far as reasonably possible, within our supply chains.
We expect the same standards from our contractors, suppliers, partners and anyone else we work with.

The purpose of this policy is to:
- Set out CareTutor’s commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Explain the responsibilities of employees and those working on behalf of CareTutor.
- Support a culture of openness, accountability and ethical practice.
- Scope
This policy applies to all employees, directors, contractors, consultants, freelancers, agency workers, temporary workers, third-party representatives, suppliers and business partners working for or on behalf of CareTutor.
- Our commitment
CareTutor will:
- Operate in a lawful, ethical and transparent manner.
- Not knowingly engage in business with any organisation involved in slavery, servitude, forced labour or human trafficking.
- Take reasonable steps to assess and manage modern slavery risks in our business relationships.
- Expect suppliers and partners to comply with applicable laws and ethical standards.
- Act on concerns raised in good faith.
- Responsibilities
The Directors have overall responsibility for ensuring this policy reflects CareTutor’s legal and ethical obligations.
Managers are responsible for:
- Promoting awareness of this policy where appropriate.
- Taking concerns seriously and escalating them where needed.
- Supporting fair and ethical practice in the organisation.
All employees and those working on behalf of CareTutor are responsible for:
- Reading, understanding and complying with this policy.
- Remaining alert to the risk of modern slavery in the business or supply chain.
- Reporting any genuine concerns or suspicions as soon as possible.
- Reporting concerns
Any person working for or on behalf of CareTutor who believes or suspects that modern slavery may be taking place in any part of the business or supply chain must raise the concern as soon as possible with a Director or senior manager.
CareTutor will take genuine concerns seriously and will not tolerate detrimental treatment of anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
- Suppliers and partners
CareTutor expects suppliers, contractors and business partners to operate lawfully and ethically. Where appropriate, we may seek confirmation that suppliers and partners have suitable policies, controls or standards in place relating to modern slavery.
- Breaches of this policy
Any employee who breaches this policy may face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal in serious cases.
CareTutor may also review, suspend or terminate relationships with suppliers, contractors or others working on its behalf where concerns arise about non-compliance with this policy.
- Review
This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as required.
- Government Supplier Code of Conduct
CareTutor confirms that it will comply with the Government Supplier Code of Conduct and expects its employees, contractors, suppliers, partners and subcontractors to act lawfully, ethically, transparently and responsibly when working with CareTutor or supporting public sector contracts.
