Alternative to Home Care 1 and Home Care 2 (Support Worker Focus)

It is an alternative to our Home Care 1 and Home Care 2 courses, with content tailored to tenancy-based support and the day-to-day responsibilities of support workers. By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the purpose and principles of supported living, and how it differs from other care models.
- Describe the role and responsibilities of support workers and team leaders in supported living services.
- Apply person-centred values and effective communication to build trust and positive relationships.
- Promote wellbeing, inclusion, independence, and positive risk taking in day-to-day support.
- Protect privacy, dignity, and safety, and work in partnership using support plans.
- Record and report concerns appropriately, including safeguarding and escalation.
