Promoting Health and Hygiene

This course looks at the health and hygiene needs of children and considers the vital part you play to support these in Early Years settings. You will learn about keeping the environment hygienic and promoting child hygiene, as well as meeting health needs. For example, by recognising when children become ill in the setting and knowing how to report and record incidents affecting their health.

 By the end of this course, you should understand:

  • What a hygienic environment is and how can you provide it.
  • Common hazards to health in a childcare setting.
  • General signs and symptoms of illness in children.
