CareTutor is excited to announce the upcoming launch of Skills for Care Licensed Leadership Programmes, created specifically for leaders and managers in adult social care. 

These nationally recognised programmes – Lead to SucceedWell-Led, and Leading Change, Improving Care (LCIC)are designed to help you and your team strengthen leadership, improve service quality, and meet CQC standards with confidence.

1) Lead to Succeed:

Build confident, motivated leaders who can drive positive change in your care service.

This programme develops essential skills in effective supervision, performance management, and team leadershipsetting the foundation for success across your organisation. 

Format: 5 modules across approximately 12 weeks 
Ideal for: seniors, team leaders, deputies, new managers 
You will: run better one-to-ones, set and hold standards, support performance fairly, and prepare teams for inspection-ready practice 


2) Well-Led:

Empower your registered managers and senior leaders to create a positive, person-centred culture. 

The Well-Led programme helps leaders understand what “good” looks like in line with the CQC Well-Led framework, and how to lead by example to deliver outstanding care.

Format: 4 modules across approximately 16 weeks 

Ideal for: registered managers and deputies stepping up 
You will: connect values to everyday practice, tighten governance, and strengthen culture and communication with staff and families

3) Leading Change, Improving Care (LCIC):

For forward-thinking care professionals ready to innovate and enhance service quality. 

 This course supports leaders to identify, plan, and implement improvements that make a measurable difference to people’s lives. 

Format: 5 modules across approximately 16 weeks 
Ideal for: service leads, improvement leads, emerging operational leaders 
You will: co-design change, test and measure what works, and spread successful practice across units 

 What is included 
  • Live facilitated sessions taught by Mark Thomson 
  • Learner workbook and ready-to-use templates including supervision agenda, action plan, test-of-change sheets and simple measures guide 
  • Manager sponsor pack with scheduling guide, backfill planner and evidence checklist 
  • Short follow-up call after the programme to review outcomes and embed learning 
  • Certificates and exportable LMS reports for audit 

  

How it runs 

  • Delivery: live online via Microsoft Teams 

  • Scheduling: half-day blocks of three to three and a half hours or monthly full-day format 

  • Cohorts: open cohorts or private cohorts for your organisation; typical group size 10 to 18 learners 

  • Between sessions: applied workplace tasks linked to your priorities; templates provided 

  • Evidence: short practical artefacts, not essays 

  • Accessibility: captions, alternative formats and additional processing time available on request 

  • Substitutions: permitted before session two if a staff member leaves 

  

Funding (LDSS) 

Often fully covered for eligible employers, with a simple reclaim process. 
You book and pay for places, complete the programme, then claim reimbursement from LDSS. We guide you through the steps and provide a claim-ready evidence pack (attendance and certificates) to make it straightforward for your team.

  • Book places, complete the programme 
  • Receive a simple pack with attendance and certificate reports for your claim 
 
 

  What you do 

  • Keep your ASC-WDS record up to date 
  • Book and pay for the programme 
  • Submit your LDSS claim within the stated window, normally within three months of completion 
  • Retain our evidence pack and your proof of payment for reimbursement
